WHAT IS OUR CULTURE exhibition by syndicate x recognition
Culture, to Hypethetic is about "remembering our roots."
The installation is a collection of graphics representing Singapore's history from the Japanese Occupation and
also present day where we rage about how there are certain prejudices against the locals.
Unlike our counter parts in Japan and United States where the people's support for their own artists and talents are so strong.
There is hardly a distinct culture in Singapore that we can really call our own, simply because the local crowd don't appreciate our talents as much.
With the influx of foreign talents it makes this an uphill task.
We see the need to build and develop a unique and diverse culture that is embraced by our own kind.
We can start now by remembering and preserving our roots that this culture will live on.
